New installs, EV chargers and data cabling

Renovating, extending, or finally getting the power and the network where you actually need them.

New work is the satisfying end of the trade: circuits sized properly the first time, cable run where it should go, and everything labelled so the next person isn’t guessing.

On data cabling: structured cabling (Cat6 or higher) run through walls, ceilings or conduit to the rooms that need it gives you a faster and far more stable connection than Wi-Fi alone. It matters for video calls, streaming and anyone working from home. Wireless access points, placed properly and fed by a cable back to the router, then give you strong coverage through the whole house instead of black spots at the back of it.

What that usually involves

  • New home fit-outs and renovation electrical work
  • New circuits, power outlets and switches
  • EV charger installation
  • Ceiling fans, exhaust fans and bathroom heating
  • Kitchen and laundry appliance circuits
  • Security cameras, doorbell cameras and intercom wiring
  • Structured data cabling, wall plates and patch panels
  • Wireless access points positioned to kill the black spots

Common questions

About new installs

Do you install EV chargers?

Yes. The main things that decide the job are where the car sits, where your switchboard is, and whether the board has capacity for the new circuit. I’ll check all three at the quote.

Is data cabling worth it if I already have Wi-Fi?

If video calls drop out or parts of the house are dead zones, yes. A cabled connection is faster and more stable, and access points fed by cable fix coverage properly rather than papering over it.

Can you work with my builder?

Yes — and it’s much cheaper to run cable before the walls are closed up. Get me in early and we’ll work out what you need while it’s still easy.

How much does an EV charger install cost?

It comes down to the distance from your switchboard to where the car sits, and whether the board has spare capacity for the new circuit. I’ll check both at the free quote and give you a fixed price.

Do you do smart home work?

Smart switches, smart lighting and automation, yes. I’ll also tell you honestly which bits of it you’ll still be using in two years.
